Parkland Foundation has received a gift from the Epic System Corporation to support Parkland’s Global Diabetes Program. Their donation will expand diabetes education services at Parkland’s 12 community health centers throughout Dallas County. Epic has supported Parkland’s programs and mission for 20 years.
Adequate access, screening, preventive care, self-management education and support are essential to addressing the burden of uncontrolled diatebes and related complications plaguing Dallas County and the more than 30,000 patients with diabetes actively seen within the Parkland system.
“The generosity of Epic will go a long way in supporting education efforts for people with diabetes across Parkland’s Diabetes Clinic and health centers providing the Healthy Living With Diabetes program,” said Kellie Rodriguez, MSN, MBA, CDE, director of diabetes education and community engagement at Parkland.
